Our community is filled with many activities that will be sure to satisfy your craving of experiencing the best that Newfoundland and Labrador has to offer. Gaultois is filled with many recreational activities from trail hiking to fishing. Take time to wonder throughout the trail system in the community. Built and maintained by the locals of Gaultois, the trails lead through deep, thick forest filled with wildlife and many different types of plant life. Continue on the trails to visit the past town of Piccarie, which resettled in the late 1900’s. Observe the still standing foundations, and cemetery of the relocated area. Also, be sure to visit the tea room, relocated and rebuilt in Piccarie in 2011. Care for a little more adventure? Why not take the Lampoid’s Lookout trail? A trail well worth the view! Making it to the top of this challenging venture will put you over 600 feet over the Hermitage bay area, showcasing the entire Hermitage Bay! Care for something a little simpler? Take a walk along the long shore hiking trail. A trail displaying the breathtaking Gaultois harbour. Along with the many trails, Gaultois is a great location for recreational fishing as well. While in the fishing season, head out by boat to take part in not only great fishing, but observe the majestic landscape of the coast line as well. The harbour is also filled with playful whales and jumpers, frequently seen throughout the Hermitage Bay area. Walk the trails, explore the bay, swim in our ponds and even ride your ATV, Gaultois is filled with many activities that are sure to entertain all types of people with all types of interests.
